River And Earth Adventures
The mission of River And Earth Adventures is to explore, have fun, educate, and feed our pets. Grant Seldomridge (water based program director) is a ACA (American Canoe Association) certified whitewater kayak instructor in addition to being a graduate of Appalachian State University's Recreation Management Program. Canoe rentals - float at your leisure to your vehicle waiting at the take out. Allow River and Earth Adventures to provide you with all the equipment including a Mohawk canoe, PFD, paddles, and a small cooler upon request. Guided canoe trips - one to two guides per group depending on size, will lead you down the river making stops to check out some river ecology. Allow River and Earth Adventures to provide all the equipment, lunch, as well as skilled and passionate guides. Trips are built around the groups' specific needs.

Riverside Canoe
Riverside Canoe in Crumpler, NC offers New River Canoeing in Northeastern Ashe County. With us you can Canoe on the south fork along the 26 mile section of the National Wild & Scenic New River. We offer canoe, kayak, tube and bike rentals. Our self guided New River paddling trips range from 2 hours to 8 hours or overnight. We also offer overnight guided trips. Raspberry Hill
Like a tree-house tucked into the pine forest above the inn, our Raspberry Hill cottage is a fully furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bath log home. Just reopened to guests, it is already proven to be a favorite guest cottage. The cabin accommodates up to six comfortably. The master suite features a king bed, and a large tub in the bath. Curl up in the plush chair-and-a-half in its sitting area. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. Two twin beds are on the expansive loft, complete with checker table. The accessible second bath, with a shower, is downstairs.

"The New River benefits from predominantly subsistence farming along its banks and not as much industrial impact as seen on other American rivers. It is home to a diversity of animal life including the Kanawha minnow, the Kanawha darter, and a species of riffle beetle found only in the New River. An abundance of mammals also may be found along the New and within its watershed. In the headwaters region, scenic areas include Mount Jefferson, Mount Paddy, and Bull Head Mountain offering a pastoral panorama. Some of the region’s homesteads date to before the Civil War."
